 Oh.........THAT Jesus!...........................218

As regards that last post: Well, I thought it was just some Mexican goin' around shootin' his immigrant mouth off where he dassn't. I didn't realize it was the same Jesus that give us Santy Claus that we was talking about. NEVER MIND THEN. Total different story.

 Peace On Earth

Well, I just guess somebody ought to set this Jesus fella on the right track, that's for sure. I keep hearing his scary messed-up message about yer "peace on Earth", and it just sets my blood to boiling, what that must be doing to our troops' morale. Don't this long-haired hippy-freak know we're in the midst of trying to wage a decent full-scale war here? Next I suppose he'll expect us to make friends with them terrorists or something. Ya, "love thy neighbor" alright. Well in America, we're the ones taught the whole dang-blasted WORLD how to love your neighbor (Mexico, Canada, how soon they forget!) We ALREADY love our freakin' neighbors about as much as they can stand! And when WE love 'em, they STAY loved! Why you think we gotta go into other neighborhoods to wage war, for pitysake yastupidninnymoron! We still got leftover LOVE to spread!!! And this treasonous "peace" talk is just dangerous & irresponsible to our love & freedom agenda. Dubya & Cheney even said so about every other day. I wish this Jesus jerk could just mind his own business for once and let us enjoy our war, like we paid for. Him coming around with this subversive, wacked-out crap can cause a lot of "wrong ripples", if you know what I mean. But NO... he's right in your face with it, too! It's all "peace" & "thou shalt not kill". Why do we even tolerate this liberal crap, anyway? Like Pat Robertson says, we got the power & the means to take him out, let's just do it! Or can't we just put him away in one of those prisons we got stashed all over the world? Then we could torture him, too (in the Bush-approved humane American fashion, of course), just on principle! I'll never understand why we've allowed this Jesus traitor to even show his face around here in the first place. We don't go pushing OUR philosophy in HIS neighborhood!

 My Apology to Mr. Furious

Mr. Furious called me on some inaccuracies in my post "Spoke Too Soon". He's right (gulp). I was way off on a couple of things I said. I must have mixed news with sibling views, and it seems "Spoke Too Soon" was a prophetic title.

The facts are that the Republicans got the gist of the public furvor that Dem Representative John Murtha's resolution on Iraq deployment caused, and exploited an opportunity to make Dems look like "flip-floppers". They hastily whipped up a resolution that said (quote) "It is the sense of the House of Representatives that the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately." That's ALL it said.

Voting "yes" on this vague, open-ended resolution would certainly show a marked lack of judgement on anyone's part. Voting "no" implies an assumption that it's okay to leave the troops over there. So my Charlie Chaplin analogy was right on target, as well as the fact that potty politics are in play here, on the part of the Republicans.

But it wasn't Bush or Cheney that grabbed the opportunity to hastily put this sham into action, as I claimed. I must have gotten that from my brother or something, and it SOUNDED so like something Bush would pull, that I just figured it was true. So I did blab before getting my facts all straight. I'm sincerely sorry about that. See if I ever do it again.

I still feel that John Murtha has what sounds like a very reasonable plan to get our butts out of someplace we never should have been in to begin with, and I still feel the same about everything else. But I feel I must apologize to Mr. Furious for my slip.

I'm sorry Mr. Furious, I was wrong, just like you said. But you should remember that your track record sure ain't nothin' to write home about, either. You've been way off, many times. And with Bush & Cheney pulling strings, covering tracks, covering butts, running side-show distractions left & right, there's sure to be much more confusion ahead for everybody. I hope you still love me, for, no matter how deeply you may have hurt me in the past, I still love you. Kissy Kissy... HUG

WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO CHRISTMAS?!?!?!

I don't know about you, but it seems to me that in the last few years this country has shown a real crash slide downward on the "responsibility scale" where entertainment is concerned. The indicator most harsh and blatant to me is the way we've taken Christmas to an all-time low in the realm of morality. I've always revered Christmas as a time when people could rise to new levels of charity and decency, and drop all the single-focused pursuit of the all-mighty dollar enough to give a little bit of soul to the other folks sharing this planet. That, and the fact that it seems to be such a MAGICAL, impressionable time for children. The poor children of today are constantly blasted by stupid, ugly "adult" images even at Christmastime!

Now, I know some are gonna say "HA! What have YOU been smoking? Christmas is the biggest thing to hit commercialism since before skirts went up far enough to show some ankle!", and I agree. I would be blind not to acknowledge this point. But somehow, up 'til recent times, we always seemed to find a way to still keep Christmas, the IDEA of it, a little above all of that nonsense, and kept it decent & pretty for our kids.

Then a couple of years back we were treated to the "Kid Rock Christmas Special". Kid Rock is one no-talent loser, who can't do ANYTHING well, except pose like a white gangsta (now there's a talent). Anyway, so here comes his commercial on Comedycentral, a couple years ago, with him dressed as Santa, smoking a big stogie, taking a dump down somebody's chimney. Charming. Real creative gray-matter, cerebral stuff.

Then, shortly after, we are treated, full-bore Hollywood style, to Billy Bob Thornton's mindlessly irresponsible "Bad Santa" movie, commercials for which are RIGHT THERE on regular TV for our kids to see 20 or 30 times a day, Halloween thru New Year's. Unconscionable! When did just plain brazen idiocy become so hilarious... so important?

And now this Sunday - Comedycentral again - we are treated to the world premiere of comedian Dennis Leary's "Merry F****N" Christmas". Quaint. I guess all one has to do these days to get a rise enough out of TV programmers is to be as base, slovenly, low & gutteral as you can be, and use the F word more blatantly than the last guy. ("Dude... you just GOTTA put it right in the title! That'd be TIGHT!") Oh, yeah --- and have that slut Carmen Electra jiggle her breasts in the camera for the commercial... I guess just to make sure there's no mistaking the deep thought and care that went into the making of this "special". (I always thought "special" signified something rare & different, but Electra's breasts? Hasn't EVERYONE, like it or not, seen them by now?)

That's humor anymore. Come to think of it, that's a lot of music anymore, as well! God knows it ain't talent, it ain't intelligence, it ain't funny, it ain't musical, and it SURE ain't pretty. But it's hip. It's mostly just ignorant & irresponsible, but nothing beats a good loud beer fart & f****n' bawdy sex fer Christmas. And you have to be pretty crafty to stay out of its way, 'cause it's in your face, and in your children's faces, like it or no.

I don't know about you, but I'm high-strung enough as it is about all the violence and ill-will I see in the world. You'd think people would strenuously seek a way to leave Christmas out of all that, yet there's a million asses out there who can smell money on the umpteen million other asses who can't think further than poopy & a belly laugh, and they don't care what or who they drag down with them as long as they can be the first to supply the next big shock!

Three spirits, tongues frozen on lampposts, and Grinches are plenty enough shock for me, thank you. I don't need to see Kid Rock's smelly, hairy ass stuck in somebody's chimney to get "that holiday spirit" in my heart. Anybody got any suggestions on how to get RID of this hideous shame? (NOT "just don't watch it"! Everybody knows THAT doesn't work anymore). Any REAL solutions? This is scary.

 Spoke Too Soon... 218

I guess I was wrong. Just when I think there are real reasons to believe in this country again, Bu**sh** and his Bu**sh** administration have to play at some more shoddy potty politics, trying to make the Dems look bad. He hastily throws together some Bu**sh** legislation on the war that is so stupid in its proposal that no thinking Dem COULD vote for it as it stands, and then turns on the old "flip flop" "blame-game" (how DO they think up those clever catch-all cliches?) crap again when they don't vote stupid.

That whole thing was like an old Charlie Chaplin film. The joke is about the big jealous husband worrying about the little tramp who has just wandered into town:

"I'm gonna pound you if I think you're after my wife! You like my wife?"

"No."

"So are you sayin' there's somethin' WRONG with my wife?" Waves a big ham of a fist.

"Oh no, of COURSE not!"

"So you DO like her! C'mere, you!"

I knew I should have been more wary of celebrating people finally coming out against Dubya & "good-old-boy"ism. You just know the pious Right Wing Conservative Reps are gonna pull some underhanded propoganda stunt like this to try and suck in those idiots who'll buy ALL of the manure they can squeeze out of their exalted elephant. (And that's a heap!) National Socialists excelled at this, too. I guess there's nothing too nasty to ship to the world when you own the whole damned railroad.

Luckily, though, most people have begun to keep an eye out for this kind of trap from George and his Thieves, and so only 3 Dems were stupid enough to vote for this idiot plan to withdraw from Iraq, overnight and unplanned. It was too much like how Bush got INTO Iraq in the first place: be as stupidly pig-eyed ignorant as possible, and then huff, puff & lie through your teeth. And your daddy's teeth. And the teeth of past administrations. Bush tells enough lies for EVERYONE to get a little credit for his utter failure.

So now the Dems have shown they won't vote for this stupidity trap, and most people are accustomed enough to Bush Republican tactics to see it for what it is. I notice Bush is still weaseling out of having to submit SOME, ANY sort of evacuation plan (the key word here being "plan"... NOT Dubya's strong suit), but I don't see it lasting long. He's gonna have to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING soon about his mess, I think. But poor Dubya just don't like to ask permission for anything. It's not in his "entitlement" upbringing.

In fact, I don't see Bush lasting long, PERIOD. He'll probably skunk some way into serving his whole last term, that wouldn't surprise me. He's been teflon. But I don't think it will be pretty... pretty miserable for Georgie, maybe, but not pretty. And just because his lies get bigger & bolder by the day, like this little stunt above, doesn't mean we all have to stay stupid or silent.

Write/call/email your representatives and call him on it! Bring his approval rating EVEN FURTHER down! When WAS the last time Dubya actually "ACCOMPLISHED a MISSION"? NEVER! The Reps bought that silver-spoon beauty, too! COME ON...

Murtha has what looks like a pretty reasonable plan for getting us out of Iraq, with a period of about a 6-month window to evacuate the troops and another year therafter to return the country to its own rule with the help of the U.N. Check it out and see if you don't agree that it seems like a possible, rational answer. (I don't expect "rational" to appeal to you, F.U...that would be asking too much). Any answer at all that isn't a bold-faced lie-in-a-grin would be a breath of fresh air for this country, after the last 5 glorious years of "victory" and "patriotism" and "pride".

Speaking of V,P&P... I am still waiting for a comment on my blog "Could We Start Again, Please?" All those bold self-righteous Bushees out there, and I have to be the only commentor on my own blog? Of course, by this time, the better angels of right and decency have pushed through legislation to weaken some of the more blatant hypocracies of the so-called "Patriot Act". (Calling that bit of Nazism "Patriotic" is like calling a Glock a "brave new American squirrel gun"). Bush & Cheney scurried around like electrified rodents trying to prevent Patriot Act ammendments from going down, as well as the "inhumane treatment & torture of detainees" they're so fond of. What a pair of stand-up guys we've got here! Talk aboutcher "Evil Ideologies of Evil Men"!

It's taken us 5 years to learn that hastily lobbed quick-run legislations are but small-change tactics for Dubya & Cheney. I am heartily enjoying watching them squirm in the eyes of the world as a little more of the rock they hide under is lifted to let in some new light. I try to look away, but they're so slimy & pathetic, I am mesmerized. Do you Republicans really think Bush & Cheney won't stoop lower than they already have to protect their legacy of Bu**sh**? Do you really think so? Do you really think? Do you really? Do you? DO.
